- Dunwoodie Lodge No. 863, Free and Accepted
Masons, was constituted June 3, 1908 in
- Yonkers, New York. We met at several different locations
within Yonkers until September, 2004 when, with neither a
Masonic Temple nor an adequate substitute for one, we
were forced to relocate to the Masonic Temple at 60 Main Street
in the village of Tuckahoe. It has been a fortuitous
arrangement and our lodge has thrived at this location.
- One of twelve lodges in the First Westchester
Putnam District, Dunwoodie can boast of being one of its most active lodges. Our members
support the District's Child ID Program, the Grand Lodge's Student Assistance Training Program, support
for the Veteran's Administration Hospital at Montrose, and a variety of other lodge and district
social and community service activities. In addition, we
are currently making plans to celebrate our
Centennial Year in 2008. Our lodge currently has five past
district deputy grand masters on its rolls, a past grand
director of ceremonies, two past grand representatives, two
past assistant grand lecturers and a distinguished service award winner.
-
- Dunwoodie has an active Trestle Board and
continues to attract young men to its ranks.
- We
particularly seek candidates with integrity and
character who are willing to commit themselves to participate in
a fulfilling experience in self-improvement and
fraternalism.
- Masonic visitors and membership inquiries
are most welcome.
